Q: Where should we park?
A: City owned parking decks are available the morning of the parade. Visit the City of Raleigh website for more information on parking or click here to view Downtown Raleigh Alliance’s list of parking lots and decks in DTR.
Q: What is the latest you suggest we park?
A: It’s completely up to you! Many families arrive as early as 7:00 AM to claim their favorite viewing spot, while others arrive closer to the 9:30 AM parade start and still find great places to watch along the route.
Q: How far is parking from a good viewing area?
A: There are excellent viewing locations all along the one-mile parade route. With multiple parking decks, street parking, and lots nearby, you’re never far from the action.
Q: What should I bring?
A: It’s going to be a hot July morning, so we recommend coming prepared! Bring:
- ☀️ Sunscreen
- 🧢 A hat or visor
- 💧 Plenty of water to stay hydrated
- 🪑 A lawn chair or blanket for comfortable seating
- 🕶️ Sunglasses
- 🇺🇸 Your patriotic spirit (flags and festive attire are encouraged!)
Q: Do you allow vendors to set up and sell at the parade?
A: No. We do not permit unauthorized vendors along the parade route. All public viewing areas are reserved for parade attendees.
Q: Will there be accessible viewing areas?
A: The parade is viewed from the sidewalks along the route. We ask everyone to help make the event enjoyable for all by allowing guests with disabilities and young children an opportunity to see the parade.
Q: Will there be portable restrooms on the parade route?
A: Yes! Portable restrooms will be located throughout the event footprint. Many downtown businesses will also be open and welcome customers to use their facilities. It’s a great opportunity to grab breakfast, coffee, or a snack while supporting a local business.
Q: Is there anything happening after the parade?

Q: Can our organization set up a tent or sell items during the parade?
A: No. We do not issue permits for vendors, fundraisers, or other sales along the parade route.
