Shop Local Raleigh (SLR), the independent business alliance formed in early 2009, has hired Jennifer Bradshaw as the organization’s new executive director. Bradshaw will work to promote SLR’s nearly 200 business members and raise public awareness about the benefits of buying local.
The Greater Raleigh Merchants Association (GRMA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce its newly elected officers for 2010-2011.
"People tend to spend more in the spring and in the summer typically," Raleigh Merchants Association Executive Director Kevin Coggins said. "I think a lot of merchants believe this little spending uptick that we've got right now will continue into the summer."

The Greater Raleigh Merchants Association (GRMA) announces the 65th Annual Raleigh Christmas parade to be held on Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Raleigh. WRAL-TV is the Title Sponsor and Official Media Partner for the fifth year in a row. Live televised coverage will begin at 10 a.m. when the first parade unit reaches the television anchor location.
Other key sponsors are Crabtree Valley Mall, Time Warner Cable and WakeMed. The parade has been presented every year since 1944 by the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association.
