Teens Face Tight Summer Job Market

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -

We're just one week into spring but like many teens, 14-year-old Richard Ziegler is already searching for a summer job.

"I want to help my moms out so she doesn't have to pay for everything," he said.

The problem is that this year, he's competing with other teens and also those laid-off workers who make up the 11.2 percent unemployment rate in North Carolina.
