I have sent the following e-mail text to each of our city councilors.
On behalf of members of the GRMA, I respectfully urge the Raleigh City Council to delay any vote on the proposed Public Safety Center until further discussion amongst all stakeholders can be held. In particular, we recommend the following:
· Further study of the proposed new building, as well as consideration and analysis of other options, including the potential disbursement of safety resources throughout the city
· Thorough examination of the costs/benefits of all possible approaches
It is our hope that our elected officials will exercise due diligence to make a prudent decision on this significant matter as it relates to establishing a state-of-the-art public safety infrastructure, while responsibly controlling costs for our citizens.
We urge you to voice your concerns to your councilor and mayor.
HERE is a link to the Raleigh City Council Webpage that has the e-mail addresses of the mayor and each of the councilors. There is also a address finder that will tell you who your councilor is if you are not sure. This is a very important matter for the future of Raleigh. We ask you to let your feelings be heard.
